Photography like any business will take a lot of work.Even if you enjoy doing it there are still a lot of work involved.Things like getting some customers to hire you is hard at first.  But like any business if you do the right things you can succeed. That would be the reason why we would be discussing some things in this article on how you can get your first photography job.

First off one of the biggest jobs a photographer can get is a wedding. This is big because the pictures which can be memories for the couple will depend on you.  As a San Diego wedding photographer the best way to get your first job is to network. There are couple getting married all the time. So there will be people that always know other people who are getting married. If you can just spread the word about what you do then eventually you will land your fisrt photo shoot. It is through a referral that you would most of the time get your first photo gig.

The next big thing aside from wedding shoots is landing some corporate shoots. This job is very hard to land because hirers usually want an experienced one to do this kind of job.  As a San Diego commercial photographer the way I got my first job was to look for smaller companies.  But you still have a chance because there are many small companies out there who still can’t afford to hire a very expensive but very experienced photographer. This is a very good chance for you to land the job because they might as well give you the responsibility to do the job.

Last would be some events or photos shoots which you could also take for your first photo shoot. There are many big events out there which you can try.  As a San Diego event photography service I got my foot wet by taking photos of events. This was doing it for no pay but to build up my portfolio.  This way people could see my work and trust me to do a good job.

So those are some ways a new photographer can get a job.It takes a lot fo hard work and perseverance but it will pay off.

What to do to take clearer pictures

Monday, December 7th, 2009

As a professional photographer a person should know how to take nice clear pictures. In other words it must be focused nicely. And if it is an action shot the photo must not be blurred. But not all people are professional photographers that is why they commit a lot of mistakes when taking photos. So here goes some tips in making you better in photography.

First tip is focus.Or in other words how to focus correctly on your subject.  Obviously being a San Diego wedding photographer it is very important in weddings.  But when you don’t center your subject it can get out of focus. To resolve that you must first put in the center of your shot the subject. Then you should half press first because this would result to the camera auto focusing on the subject. Then put them to the side and go take the shot. This would be great if you want the subject to be at the side of the photo.

Next tip is really good for action shots.  As a San Diego event photography service a lot of events are going to be action oriented events. This means that your subject would always be on the move. The trick is mentioned already in the first tip and that is to half press so that the camera would focus on the subject first.  That way it focuses on the subject and reduces the shutter delay. This would lead to an action photo that will not be blurred.

Final tip is about the subject getting too bright.  This happens a lot doing San Diego commercial photographer work. The trick here is to utilize the camera features. You should point the camera at something that is brighter than the subject. This would result in the camera making it less brighter. And once the camera has done making it less brighter then go take a photo of the subject. You will see they aren’t as bright anymore.

So there are some of your tips in making you better in photography.

Things that a couple should consider when looking for a wedding photographer

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

For couples that are planning to marry the budget is one of the things that could cause many poblems for them. They have to allot money for the location of the wedding. They have to budget for the reception. And they also should consider the expenses on the honeymoon. And we should also consider the wedding photographer. This is where couples can choose on whether to go cheap or choose those expensive but high quality photographers. So now we would compare the two.

Of course this is coming from my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  So I have had to deal with couples who had to worry about budget. But I also met couples who do not worry about the price.Obviously, you cannot afford an expensive one if your are on a tight budget.A couple do not have a choice if that is the case. They can’t do anything with regards to how much they would spend. But if they just go around and interview photographers then they might have achance that they would get a good one.All they have to do is be patient and go and interview photographers.

Now of course if a couple isn’t limited on budget then they should find the best that money can buy.Why should they go and look for the best?Because their wedding is one of their most cherished events in their life.Don’t go for photographers that are not that good because you are entrusting them the duty of capturing the evnets during your vey special day.  I have had many people tell me they regretted not going with my San Diego photographer business because of price.  Mainly because they weren’t satisfied with the quality of the photos.

So if you are planning towed then don’t be cheap. That is if you can avoid it from happening especially if you are on a limited buget.  Find the best San Diego portrait photographer you can find and you will be pleased with the outcome.  For something as important as your wedding it is worth it.You are entrusting someone to capture those specail moments forever. So be sure to find someone who can deliver on that trust.
