When you are preparing to apply for a new position it is important to write or update your resume. Your letter of application and your resume are your first introduction to the potential new employer so it is important to give careful consideration of what you include in the resume and what you include in your letter of application. Everyone has wondered how to write a resume at one point in their lives. Writing one becomes quite intimidating to some. The difficulty lies in not knowing what information to include, which ones to highlight, and what items in your resume should you de-emphasize. You just need some idea to write a professional manner resume which makes impression on person who is taking your interview. The resume usually begins with personal information that includes your name, address and contact information. You may decide to put the position that you are applying for on the resume. Some also include objectives in the resume but prefer to include this information in the letter of application.
After the personnel information the next step on how to write a resume would be listed in a chronological order, starting with the most recent first. In this section you may also include any certificates that you received as a result of my education. You would then outline all your work experiences, again in chronological order starting with the most recent. This would be followed by professional activities, such as boards and committees that I have had membership and participated. Make sure to mention any computer related knowledge, spoken languages, and other relevant information in your ‘Additional Skills’ section. End your resume with your references or put that information available upon request. Your resume should only be about one to two pages long.
